Marina di Praia, Praiano — Amalfi Coast, Italy. Between Positano and Amalfi, the village of Praiano runs down to Marina di Praia, a tiny pebble cove at the mouth of a narrow gorge. Fishing boats are pulled up under the cliffs, small restaurants sit right on the rocks, and the water is clear and calm — one of the quietest swims on the coast, and a good place to start a boat day to Capri.

  • Best time to visit: May, June and September, warm and less crowded; July and August are the hottest and busiest months.
  • Average temperature: summer highs of about 28–30°C / 82–86°F; the sea reaches about 25–26°C in August.
  • Good to know: the cove is small and pebbly, so arrive early in summer and bring water shoes; the walk down from the coast road is steep.

The Praiano Check set is slate-blue gingham on a classic string cut: small checks in Coastal Slate and Fog White, easy to read from across the cove and neat up close. Tie it high at the hip or low, and knot the halter however the day calls for.

Made from soft recycled fabric with double layering and UPF 50+.

Care: rinse in cool fresh water after each swim to clear salt and chlorine.

Note: the two-layer construction can leave a small visible stitch at the crotch seam of the bottom. It does not affect fit or wear.
