TOP 100 BIKINI DESTINATIONS / BAHIA

Along the cliffs,
at the turn of the tide.

Praia do Espelho lies along the Curuípe shore of southern Bahia, between Trancoso and Caraíva.

Check the tide before leaving Trancoso. Give yourself time to walk along the sand while the water is low, and leave plenty of room between you and the base of the cliffs.

Set your arrival by the tide, then allow time to leave the shore before the rising water narrows the beach. If heavy rain makes the access road difficult, spend the day around Trancoso’s Quadrado instead.

06 / WHAT TO WEAR

From the sand to dinner.

THE CURUÍPE KIT

Swim.
Walk.
Stay out.

On the sand

Wear the Espelho Guava bikini with a loose shirt, a brimmed hat, and a bag for wet swimwear.

On the walk back

Wear shoes with grip for uneven access paths. Pack sunscreen and water, and leave exposed rock shelves before the tide comes in.

In town

Trade wet swimwear for a dry shirt or dress and sandals. Carry a light layer if you are eating outdoors.

BEFORE YOU LEAVE

Good to know.

Which airport should I use?

Use Porto Seguro Airport (BPS) and prebook the onward ride to Curuípe.

Can you swim at Praia do Espelho?

Water can look calm over the reef at low tide, while surf and currents vary. Follow posted warnings and swim only where conditions and local guidance allow.

Is the beach step-free?

The approach varies by entrance. Ask your driver or beach restaurant about the grade, the surface, and the final distance over sand.

When should I see the pools?

Go around low tide after checking the local forecast and tide. Rising water can cover the rocks and narrow the route back.

Do I need a car?

A prebooked round-trip transfer works for a day visit. If you drive, check road conditions after rain and confirm where you can park.
